The primary goal of treatment for Meniere’s disease is control of vertigo, the most disabling symptom. Maintenance and recovery of hearing is sometimes possible if treated early. Remember, that the disease waxes and wanes, and sometimes improves without treatment. This is the primary reason it has been so difficult for scientists and doctors to develop and test treatment strategies. Each patient will require a course of treatment designed specifically for him/her. The doctor will monitor the patient for symptoms and adjust the therapy as needed.
